Boba Andric-Picaud,
Owner,
is an
acclaimed personal trainer. Boba has been described as "the definition of no
nonsense. She is the ultimate trainer: efficient, caring,
encouraging, and pushy. There's no BS with Boba - she is
relentless on reps and form. Watch out for her famous catch
phrase, 'Good, now 20 more!'"
Born in
then-Yugoslavia, Boba studied Russian-style Ballet for 12 years and
performed as a professional ballet and jazz dancer throughout
Europe. After a successful career in performance, Boba moved to
the US to teach Ballet and Jazz at several dance studios in Los
Angeles. Due to increasing demand, she eventually expanded into
teaching calisthenics, stretching and weight training. For the
past 10 years Boba has focused only on personal training,
specializing in different styles of weight training which often
include Plyometric movements. Commonly used for athletic
conditioning, Plyometric movements utilize an incoming force to
store energy in the muscles, which is then used immediately in an
opposite reaction. This type of movement is one of the most
effective ways to improve strength and agility.
Based on
the needs of each of her clients, Boba incorporates Plyometric
techniques into traditional weight training, cross aerobics
training, or weight training combined with cardiovascular
exercise, to keep her clients in top condition. Clients are also
encouraged to do outdoor activities, such as hiking, and each of
them is counseled on their individual nutritional needs.
Boba has
been involved in several body-makeovers, as these are a trade
specialty at Body Maxx. Celebrity clients include Kelly Lynch (Drugstore
Cowboy, Imaginary Crimes, Virtuosity, Charlie's Angels), Thora Birch (American Beauty,
Ghost World), Michelle Clunie (Queer as Folk, currently),
Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks, Boxing Helena, Liz:
The Elizabeth Taylor Story), Jennifer Aspen (Party of Five,
Vanilla Sky, The Others), and Lynsey Bartilson (Grounded
for Life, currently). |
Brian Abercrombie,
Fitness Director / Personal Trainer,
has worked with many high profile clients, the
likes of: Brad Pitt, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, and Gerard
Butler and many professional and amateur athletes, Brian brings
18 years of experience and education to his training philosophy.
Promoting health and longevity in unison with athletic
performance, he believes it is a trainers responsibility to
adapt to the clients needs, not for the client to adapt to the
trainer. An expert in many training techniques, and nutritional
guidance, he utilizes dedication, knowledge and focus to tailor
a program for each individual so that they are able to set
goals, see results and have fun. Because #1 it has to be fun.
Brian recently trained Gerry Butler for his breakthrough role in the movie "300". |
Michelle Dahm,
Personal Trainer,
is a woman on the move-- literally. Michelle's
successful in-home training business keeps her busy from sun-up
to sundown, keeping her clients healthy and fit. With a B.A. in
exercise science and over 12 years experience in the field, Michelle
is more than qualified to handle most fitness needs. She is also
certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), adding
to an already extensive background in areas such as health screening,
fitness evaluation, rehabilitation programming, fat-loss programs
and nutritional counseling.
